English Language Arts
Literacy is the foundation for life long success. Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening are skills that will carry students beyond their academic performance into the real world.

Standards are the first place we begin in curriculum development. States and districts develop standards that correspond to the the essentials that students must know and be able to do by the end of the year. Within the standards there is a lot of room for freedom and creativity in instructional strategies.
